Spain defeated defending champions Argentina 1-0 in Sunday’s final at the MetLife Stadium, denying La Albiceleste the chance to retain the trophy.
In his emotional message, Messi acknowledged the disappointment of losing the final but said he would focus on the memorable moments created by the team’s journey.

“The pain is immense, it will take time for this wound to heal,” Messi wrote.
