Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers arrived for his Chelsea medical on Monday morning, with a £117m deal close to completion.
The 23-year-old flew back from the USA on Sunday following England’s World Cup campaign before heading straight to Stamford Bridge to seal the transfer.
If the medical is successful, Rogers will sign a six-year contract with Chelsea, with an option for a further year until 2033.
The fee would make him Chelsea’s record signing. Arsenal are reported to have missed out on the England international.
