Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed how a smart real estate investment paved the way for his ongoing luxury mansion project in Eko Atlantic, Lagos, which he says will be worth about ₦20 billion when completed.
Speaking during an interview with Egungun, the singer disclosed that he initially bought a plot of land in Banana Island for ₦1 billion before selling it for ₦2 billion. He then used the proceeds to purchase land in Eko Atlantic for ₦2.5 billion, noting that the land is now valued at ₦7 billion.
Davido explained that the mansion under construction will feature 15 bedrooms, two fully equipped music studios and a 20-car garage, adding that his brother-in-law is supervising the entire project.
According to him, “My house in Eko Atlantic has 15 rooms, 2 music studios & 20 car garage, my sisters husband is the one building everything. I bought a land in Banana Island for 1 billion & sold it for 2 Billion naira to buy this land in Eko Atlantic for 2.5 Billion Naira & it sells for 7 billion naira now, with the house it’ll be 20 billion naira.”
The singer added that he expects the mansion to be completed by this time next year. He also revealed that he will embark on a tour of 43 countries, including several African nations, to promote his recently released album, Ori Ade, which dropped in July 2026.
Davido also spoke about how his interests have changed over time, saying luxury cars no longer excite him as much as they used to.
“I’m doing a tour in 43 countries for my album including African countries. I don’t like cars anymore, I like planes,” he said.
