A Nigerian man has opened up about the financial challenges he faces in his marriage, revealing how he plans ahead to ensure his family does not go without food despite having an unstable income.
The man explained that he regularly buys shawarma for his wife after work and also purchases foodstuff in advance because he does not have a steady source of income.
According to him, his priority is making sure that his family has enough to eat, even when money is not readily available.
“I buy shawarma daily for my wife after work. I buy foodstuff ahead because my income isn’t stable and I never want us hungry. My daughter was in the hospital, I had no cash and was waiting for my brother to send money. My wife had ₦600k but couldn’t help.”
The man’s account has drawn attention to the financial difficulties that can arise in marriage, particularly when one partner has access to funds while the other is struggling to meet urgent family needs.
