Enyimba assistant coach, Lawrence Ukaegbu has expressed satisfaction with his team’s continued improvement in recent outings in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.
The nine-time champions recorded their second consecutive victory of the season, edging past 10-man Plateau United 2-0 at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba, on Sunday.
The Aba giants are now unbeaten in their last three league matches and have moved out of the relegation zone.
Ifeanyi Ihemekwele opened the scoring for the hosts one minute before the half-hour mark.
Richard Ezinwa doubled the advantage in the 66th minute.
Ukaegbu affirmed that the People’s Elephant have regained their competitive edge.
“We have returned to our best form, and I can assure you of this. Our success has been built on consistency and the players’ commitment to working as one unit,” Ukaegbu stated to journalists following the match.
“The players have now developed a comprehensive understanding of the expectations we have established for them. This comprehension accounts for the remarkable resurgence you have observed.”
Enyimba will travel to Katsina United for their next league game.
