Otti to Uzodimma: Not all South East governors endorsed Tinubu for 2027

The Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has faulted the position of the Imo State Governor and Chairman of the South East Governors’ Forum, Hope Uzodimma, that all five governors in the region have agreed to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

The Abia State helmsman made his position on the issue known to newsmen when he spoke during his monthly media chat on Friday.

Otti said Uzodimma could only speak for himself.

He said he had no mandate to commit the entire South East or its governors to any political endorsement.

Otti also reaffirmed his loyalty to the Labour Party, noting that the party would field its own presidential candidate, whom he intends to support.

He said his cordial relationship with President Tinubu and support for some Federal Government policies, including the removal of fuel subsidy, should not be interpreted as a political endorsement.

He said his cooperating with the Federal Government is part of his responsibility as a governor and is separate from partisan politics.
