Authorities in Singapore have arrested a 26-year-old man accused of illegally accessing studio systems and leaking a film linked to Avatar: The Last Airbender.
According to investigators, the suspect allegedly bypassed security measures to gain unauthorized access to servers belonging to Paramount Pictures, where he downloaded and distributed the unreleased content.
The arrest follows an earlier claim by the suspect, who reportedly insisted that the file was sent to him unintentionally.
“Someone accidentally sent it to me,” he was quoted as saying.
However, authorities say digital forensics contradicted that claim, revealing deliberate access to restricted systems. The case has raised fresh concerns about cybersecurity vulnerabilities in the entertainment industry and the growing issue of content piracy.
If convicted, the suspect could face a fine exceeding $50,000, a prison sentence of up to seven years, or both under Singapore’s cybercrime laws.

In an interview with media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on Bounce Radio, the Mavin Records founder disclosed that he was often teased because of his appearance while in school. He noted that the constant mockery negatively affected his self-esteem at the time.
Don Jazzy added that the experience left him with emotional effects that have lingered over the years, making him more reserved and less comfortable with public speaking.
“Girls used to call me ugly in university and no one wanted to be my girlfriend. It affected my confidence, and that’s why I’m shy and struggle to speak in public till today. It is also why I find it hard to believe when a woman tells me she truly loves me. Most of them are now rushing me now, why didn’t they love me then?” he said.
