Port Harcourt, Rivers State – A young man has been arrested in Port Harcourt after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend and forced her out of their residential compound unclothed following what witnesses described as a minor misunderstanding.
As seen in the Trending Video, the incident, which reportedly occurred on Sunday evening in a residential area of the city, caused panic among residents and drew widespread condemnation from neighbours.
According to report, the couple had engaged in a brief argument over an undisclosed issue before the disagreement escalated into a physical confrontation. Residents claimed the suspect allegedly attacked the woman before dragging her outside and leaving her naked in the compound.
The victim’s cries reportedly attracted neighbours, who rushed to her aid and provided clothing while attempting to calm the situation. Some residents were said to have immediately alerted local security personnel.
“He became very angry over what seemed like a small issue. Before we knew it, the woman was outside crying and pleading for help,” one resident said.
The suspect was later apprehended by security operatives following complaints from residents of the compound. Sources said the victim sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby health facility for medical attention.
The identities of both individuals have not been officially disclosed, and authorities are yet to issue a formal statement regarding the incident. However, investigations are said to be ongoing.
The incident has reignited discussions on domestic violence and anger management, with community leaders urging couples to seek peaceful ways of resolving disputes and report abusive behaviour to the appropriate authorities.
