Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are on the verge of qualifying for another final of the UEFA Champions League after beating FC Bayern 5–4 in the first-leg semi-final of the competition on Tuesday night, news.ng reports.
Visitors FC Bayern were the first to open the scoring, courtesy of England international Harry Kane, who converted a penalty in the 17th minute to give his side the lead. Seven minutes later, PSG responded with an equaliser from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Just before half-time, the intensity of the match increased as João Neves gave PSG the lead in the 33rd minute. Eight minutes later, FC Bayern’s Michael Olise made it 2–2 before Ousmane Dembélé struck in the 45+5th minute, giving PSG a 3–2 lead going into the break.
Dayot Upamecano pulled one back for the German side before Dembélé scored again in the 58th minute.
Both sides pushed to secure a first-leg advantage, but Luis Diaz’s effort in the 68th minute, which resulted in a goal, was not enough to force a draw, as PSG maintained the upper hand.
The two sides will meet next Wednesday again for the second leg.
