Rep Provides Transformers For Imo Communities

The lawmaker representing Ideato Federal Constituency of Imo State, Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere, has installed 500KVA transformers and other electricity infrastructure in Ogwume, Dikenafai and Akpulu communities.

The installations bring to seven the number of communities reached by the lawmaker’s Operation Light Up Ideato project across Ideato North and South.

The latest phase includes transformers, electricity cables and other electrical components, with installation completed in Akpulu and work ongoing in Ogwume and Dikenafai.

Previous installations were carried out in Umuopia, Obodoukwu, Abukwa and Umukegwu.

Ugochinyere, who chairs the House Committee on Downstream Petroleum, said the project would be extended to other communities requiring electricity infrastructure.

His media office said the project was being implemented as a continuing programme, with more transformers expected to be supplied and installed in additional communities.

The lawmaker said the objective was to reach every community in Ideato that requires electricity infrastructure and reduce gaps in power supply across the constituency.
