Nigerian actor Saheed Yusuf has shared his perspective on leading figures in Nollywood, sparking conversations within the film industry and among fans.
In a recent statement, the actor praised Funke Akindele, describing her as the best female filmmaker in Nigeria.
Known for her commercially successful productions and strong audience appeal, Funke Akindele has consistently delivered films that perform well at the box office, earning her widespread recognition.

Yusuf also highlighted the contributions of Kunle Afolayan and Femi Adebayo, particularly in blockbuster filmmaking.
According to him, both filmmakers have demonstrated exceptional skill in producing large-scale, high-quality movies that resonate with audiences both locally and internationally.

While commending established names, Yusuf also acknowledged emerging talents in the industry. He noted that actors and filmmakers such as Lateef Adedimeji and Itele D Icon are making commendable efforts and gradually carving out their space in Nollywood.
“Funke Akindele is the best female filmmaker. But talking about blockbusters, it is Kunle Afolayan and Femi Adebayo. Lateef Adedimeji and Itele are trying,” he said.
