The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, has expressed confidence in the electoral victories of all the party’s candidates at the forthcoming 2027 general election.
Senator Adeola disclosed this on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, when the Ogun State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) convened an interfaith prayer concert in Abeokuta to commit its political preparations and ambitions for the 2027 general elections into God’s hands.
Speaking at the occasion, the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, declared that the party would secure victory in 2027 without a serious contest, attributing his optimism to divine intervention.
Adeola, who currently represents Ogun West Senatorial District and is seeking to succeed Governor Dapo Abiodun, stressed that God has cleared the path for the APC ahead of the governorship election.
“That same God that will give us victory on January 16 will also support me to become the seventh Executive Governor of Ogun State. God will give us victory and clear our path without a fight, because no one will contest us. God has started that already. They are running helter-skelter now to perfect their own, but God has spoken that He’s going to give us victory without a fight,” Adeola said
He also expressed optimism that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates seeking elective offices in Ogun State would emerge victorious at the polls.
While addressing the gathering, the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, underscored the significance of seeking divine guidance for the party’s 2027 electoral polls.
Recalling his own political hurdles during the 2019 governorship race, Abiodun emphasized how those experiences strengthened his belief in God.
“We have gathered here to seek the Almighty’s face and commit our journey of 2027 into His hands. I recalled how the journey was in 2018. When we started, it was not like this at all. It was tough. But God has used me as a testimony. God of 2018 is still around, and He will continue to allow us to embark on a smooth transition from a sitting governor to the incoming governor,” he added.
While delivering his sermon during the interfaith prayers, the Regional Evangelist of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Johnson Kalejaiye, prayed for a peaceful electoral process and declared that divine intervention would clear the coast for the party.
He also admonished all political actors and their supporters to refrain from hate speech, campaigns of calumny, and acts capable of inciting violence during the election season.
Also speaking during the occasion, Islamic Cleric, Sheik Amin Olohun commended Senator Adeola for the giant strides and delivery of good governance over the last few years.
He prayed for God’s guidance for Senator Adeola, that will enable him to deliver to the people when he eventually becomes the governor.
The prayer session was well attended by APC leaders, party faithful, and supporters, including the party’s National Leader and former governor of the State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, as the ruling party intensifies its campaign ahead of the 2027 political cycle.
