Seven Palestinians in Gaza have been killed by Israeli forces over the past 24 hours, the local health ministry said on Wednesday, as Israeli forces continue to violate the October ceasefire with Hamas.
Several others were injured in shelling in Beit Lahia on Tuesday, where the Israeli military targeted a group of people near a roundabout, according to Palestinian news agency WAFA.
Beit Lahia, in northern Gaza, has been extensively destroyed by Israeli forces since they launched their genocidal offensive in October 2023.
In total, 21 people were injured in Israeli attacks over the past day, the health ministry said.
Israeli forces have violated the ceasefire with Hamas hundreds of times since it came into effect in October, killing and injuring more than 3,000 people.
Ministry figures show that 784 people have been killed and 2,214 others wounded over the past six months.
Authorities say Israel is also continuing to obstruct supplies of vital goods crossing the border and has cracked down on humanitarian NGOs operating inside the Strip.
Israel’s war on Gaza has killed or injured around 10 percent of the territory’s population since October 2023 and led to the destruction of most of the Strip. At least 72,562 people have been killed in the onslaught and another 172,320 wounded, according to the latest ministry figures.
New settler attacks in the West Bank
Settlers on Wednesday moved to reoccupy a settlement in the north of the West Bank abandoned more than two decades ago.
Local sources told WAFA that settlers moved into Kadim, located on a hilltop east of Jenin, under the protection of Israeli troops.
Kadim was one of four settlements evacuated in 2005 under then-prime minister Ariel Sharon’s disengagement policy.
In December, the far-right Netanyahu government authorised its re-establishment as part of a decision to build 19 new settlements in the occupied territory.
Another settlement abandoned in 2005, Sa-Nur, was reopened by Israeli ministers on Sunday.
In a separate incident, settlers raided a Bedouin community north of Jericho on Tuesday evening, threatening residents and grazing livestock on their land.
Settler violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank has surged since Israel launched its war on Gaza in October 2023 and has accelerated further this year.
Almost 1,700 Palestinians were displaced by settler attacks in the first three months of this year alone, surpassing the total number in all of 2025, according to UN data.
A report this week showed that the Israeli military and settlers are using sexual abuse to force Palestinians from their homes across the West Bank.
