Music producer, Don Jazzy

Nigerian music executive and producer, Don Jazzy, has shared his candid thoughts on the current state of emerging artistes in the music industry, sparking widespread discussions across social media platforms.

Don Jazzy expressed concern that many upcoming musicians are too eager to attain the level of global superstars such as Davido, Wizkid and Burna Boy without fully developing the necessary skills and stage presence required to sustain such heights.

According to Don Jazzy, while talent remains an essential factor in achieving success, it is not sufficient on its own. He pointed out that performance ability, personality and overall likability are equally important in building a lasting career in the highly competitive music industry.

I feel like upcoming artistes are too quick to become the next Davido, Wizkid or Burna Boy. But they can’t perform at that level yet, and some don’t even have the personality or likability. Talent is not enough,” he said.

However his perspective serves as a reminder that sustained success goes beyond raw talent, requiring a combination of discipline, charisma and audience connection.
