The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Taraba State, PDP, has urged members and supporters of the party not to lose hope following the recent Federal High Court judgment on the party’s national leadership.
In a statement on Monday, Ikenya said there was no cause for panic, noting that the party’s leadership had already appealed the judgment.
According to him, the national leadership led by Senator Kabiru Tanimu Turaki (SAN), alongside the party’s Board of Trustees chaired by Senator Adolphus Wabara, had exercised its constitutional right by challenging the ruling at the Court of Appeal.

He expressed confidence in the judicial process, saying justice would prevail at the appellate court or, if necessary, at the Supreme Court.
“Our hope remains alive because our struggle is anchored on truth, justice, internal democracy and the rule of law,” he said.
The PDP governorship candidate appealed to party members and supporters across Taraba State to remain calm, united and focused despite the court ruling.
He described the judgment as a temporary setback and urged party faithful not to be discouraged.
Ikenya also called on supporters across the state’s 16 local government areas to sustain mobilisation and campaigns for his governorship bid and other PDP candidates under the leadership of Turaki.
“Our campaign for a better Taraba remains strong, our resolve is unshaken, and our commitment to the welfare and prosperity of our people is unwavering,” he said.
He maintained that Taraba had remained a stronghold of the PDP and expressed optimism that the party would overcome its current challenges through the judicial process.
Ikenya further urged residents and party supporters to remain peaceful, law-abiding and to continue to have faith in the country’s democratic institutions while awaiting the outcome of the appeal.
