Popular entrepreneur and music executive Ubi Franklin has shared his thoughts on what he believes could be one of the fastest ways for an individual to build significant wealth in Nigeria.
Speaking in a recent interview shared on X (formerly Twitter), he suggested investing in food vendors operating in busy and highly populated areas, particularly around motor parks.

“The fastest way to become a billionaire on the mainland or in a populated area is to invest in 100 mama-put food vendors that sell food at the motor park,” he said.
He explained that an investor could give each vendor ₦50,000 as working capital and collect a portion of their daily returns while the vendors use part of the proceeds to continue running their businesses.
According to Ubi Franklin, having 100 vendors operating simultaneously could result in substantial returns. He illustrated his point with a calculation based on the amount collected from each vendor daily.
“Just imagine that you give them ₦50,000 to cook every day, and then they come back with ₦150k or ₦200k. And you take ₦50,000, give them ₦50,000 as their earning, and they use the remaining ₦50,000 to go and continue cooking.
Every day you are taking ₦50,000 from them. Calculate ₦50,000 daily times 365 days. That’s on one person. In a year, you will make ₦1.8 billion,” he added.
His remarks have since generated conversations online, while some Nigerians questioned the feasibility of the model and the figures behind his calculation, others praised the idea as an unconventional approach to business.
Ubi’s suggestion has continued to attract attention as Nigerians debate different ways to build profitable businesses in the country.
