“Things Aren’t As Bad As People Claim”- Jide Kosoko Defends Tinubu Amid Criticism

Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has expressed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, arguing that the country’s current challenges should not be portrayed as though everything was better before the President assumed office.

The actor made his position known during an interview with fellow actress Biola Bayo, where he acknowledged the economic difficulties facing Nigerians but maintained that Tinubu was working to address several problems confronting the country.

According to Kosoko, although the situation is far from ideal, Nigerians should also consider the state of the country before the current administration took over.

He further urged beneficiaries of the President’s initiatives, particularly those involving students, to speak publicly about the impact of such programmes.

Kosoko also claimed that some of Tinubu’s critics understand the direction of his administration but allow their political ambitions to influence their opinions.

Speaking during the interview, the veteran actor said:

“Things aren’t as bad as people make it to seem. I am hungry; check most of those people. Before Tinubu came, what were they eating? Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying things are rosy; there are too many issues at hand which Bola Ahmed Tinubu is now fixing.

Many of the beneficiaries of what Tinubu is doing for the students should speak out.

Tinubu’s opponents know the truth: the man is on the right track, but ambition has clouded their judgment.

I give it to the youths; they own it.

I wish our youths would continue to remember they are Africans.

They copy most of the things they do.”

His remarks have added to the ongoing public conversation about the Tinubu administration, the country’s economic situation and the role of young Nigerians in shaping the nation’s future.
