“Tinubu Plunged Nigeria Into Hunger And Poverty”- Rufai Oseni

Nigerian broadcaster Rufai Oseni has criticised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration over the rising cost of living and the hardship facing Nigerians, blaming the government for the country’s hunger and poverty crisis.

Oseni expressed his displeasure while reacting to a news report he said he saw, which claimed that Nigerians spend 120 per cent of their income on food.

Describing the report as a major indictment of the Tinubu-led government, the broadcaster questioned the president’s position on the worsening economic situation in the country.

According to Oseni, the reported figure highlights the difficulties many Nigerians face in meeting their basic needs, particularly the rising cost of food and other essential commodities.

He said: “I saw a news report yesterday stating that people spend 120% of their income on food. This is a major indictment of President Tinubu’s government. If President Tinubu says he is not to blame for the hunger in Nigeria, he is the one who plunged the country into hunger and poverty.”

His comments have added to the ongoing public debate over the causes of Nigeria’s economic challenges and the federal government’s responsibility for addressing the cost-of-living crisis.
