Tinubu’s Northern Support Solid, Says Party Chieftain

An influential member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Dr Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, on Tuesday said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains the “best man for the job” in 2027, insisting that northern support for the President is firm and solid.

Iliyasu Kwankwaso said there was neither panic nor retreat among Tinubu’s supporters in the North, maintaining that the region’s growing confidence in the president was anchored on his administration’s policies, programmes and what he described as measurable achievements since assuming office.

“There is no panic and no going back in our support for Tinubu. The criticisms coming from the opposition will not stop us from voting for him in the North,” he said.

Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, who hosted newsmen in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital
dismissed sustained criticism of the administration by opposition politicians as part of the political manoeuvring ahead of 2027.

The APC stalwart stressed that hostile rhetoric alone could not erase what he described as the President’s expanding political support across the region.

According to him, northern voters are becoming increasingly concerned with issues capable of directly shaping their lives, including economic recovery, security, infrastructure, employment, and national stability.

Kwankwaso said supporters of the President would intensify engagement with voters across the North, taking the administration’s message to communities and highlighting what they consider to be gains recorded under Tinubu’s leadership.

He urged APC supporters not to be distracted by what he described as negative narratives from political opponents, saying the priority should be to consolidate the party’s structures and sustain communication with the electorate ahead of the elections.

He expressed confidence that the political coalition backing Tinubu would remain united and focused, stressing that the President’s supporters were prepared to defend his record and seek a fresh mandate based on his performance in office.

Kwankwaso therefore urged Tinubu’s supporters across the North to remain resolute, describing the 2027 contest as an opportunity to sustain the administration’s development trajectory and give the President more time to consolidate his policies and programmes.
