Travis Barker was born on November 14, 1975, to Randy Barker and Gloria Barker. He was born and raised up in Fontana, California. His father was a mechanic, and his mother babysat. He is the youngest child in his family and has two elder sisters.
Barker completed his schooling at Fontana High School. His mother was a great motivation in his life, and she told him to follow his dreams. She died the day before he started going to high school.

Barker has been married twice in his lifetime. He married Mellisa Kennedy in 2001, but the couple did not last long. They divorced in August 2002. He later married Shanna Moakler (Miss USA, 1995) on October 30, 2004. After filing for divorce on August 8, 2006, the couple finally divorced in 2008.

Travis Barker was exposed to music beginning at a young age. He started taking drum lessons at the early age of five.
After completing high school, he worked as a trash man until he found a place in the punk group, The Aquabats, in 1994. In 1997, the release of The Fury of the Aquabats turned out to be a decider in his musical career. Barker then joined the rock band Blink-182 in 1998. Blink-182 became one of the most popular bands of the new millennium, and his mainstream success started in the year 2000, after giving some serious efforts.
