Former Manchester United star, Wayne Rooney, has picked Bayern Munich as the team with the advantage to qualify for the Champions League final over Paris Saint-Germain.
Offering his insights during Prime Video’s post-match coverage, Rooney suggested that Bayern hold the edge heading into the Champions League semi-final second leg at the Allianz Arena.
Despite leaving Paris with a one-goal deficit on Tuesday, the former England international believes the Bavarians’ ability to find the net against PSG in the Champions League semi-final first leg, while tightening things up defensively, gives them the advantage.
“Looking ahead to next week, I’d feel far more comfortable being in Bayern Munich’s position,” Rooney explained. “Leaving here just one goal down, knowing you can score against PSG and also tighten things up a bit—I’d say the advantage is with them.”
The decisive second leg is scheduled for next Wednesday in Germany.
