A United Kingdom court has granted Nigerian dancer and entertainer, Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, bail ahead of his appearance at the Snaresbrook Crown Court on Tuesday, September 15.
The court confirmed that Odinaka was granted bail on September 11, ending uncertainty over his custody status following reports that he had been released.
However, his release on bail has not brought the criminal proceedings to an end, as the case remains active before the UK court.
According to the court, Odinaka is scheduled to appear for a plea and trial preparation hearing on September 15.
“The Defendant has been granted bail on the 11th September 2026,” the court said in an email confirming his status.
The court also confirmed that Tuesday’s proceeding would be a plea and trial preparation hearing.
The development means Odinaka, who has denied the allegations against him, will return to court while the prosecution proceeds with the case.
The Nigerian entertainer is facing five sexual offence charges in the UK, including attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration.
The allegations have not been proven in court, and Odinaka has not been convicted of any offence.
Earlier reports of his alleged release had generated confusion over whether he remained in custody and whether the case was still proceeding.
The Crown Prosecution Service had, however, confirmed that the case remained active and that Odinaka was still expected to appear before the court on September 15.
Odinaka recently addressed the allegations in a video shared on Instagram by social commentator Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan.
In the video, the dancer maintained his innocence and said he remained confident because he knew he had not committed the offences alleged against him. “If I were inside there and I did what I was accused of, I would have felt I was paying for my sins, but since I knew I didn’t do what I was accused of, my mind is pure,” he said.
