Here are the latest updates on the US-Israel war with Iran:
The US, Iran and Pakistan have all reported progress in talks aimed at ending the US-Israel war on Iran.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in India that “there’s been some progress done,” in the talks, and that “there is a chance that, whether it’s later today, tomorrow, in a couple days, we may have something to say.”
Esmail Bagheri, the spokesperson for Iran’s foreign ministry, said that “the trend this week has been towards a reduction in disputes,” whilst noting that “we will have to wait and see where the situation ends in the next three or four days.”
Pakistan’s military said that in the last 24 hours there had been encouraging progress towards a final understanding. The statement comes after a visit to Tehran by Pakistan’s army chief, Asim Munir.
The progress comes amid renewed tension between the US and Iran, amid US media reports that US President Donald Trump was again mulling strikes on Iran, prompting a harsh rebuke from Iran’s speaker of Parliament, Mohammed Bagher Ghalibaf, who vowed a “crushing” response to any strikes.
