FC Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany has downplayed reports in some quarters that he is targeting a treble for the club after his side clinched the Bundesliga title for a record 35th time on Sunday, beating Stuttgart 4–2, news.ng reports.
In an interview with the German news outlet BR24 on Monday, Kompany said he is not thinking about a treble but is focused on winning the German Football Cup semi-final against Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday.
He said, “Right now, I only want to win against Leverkusen. I can’t say now that I want to be a treble-winning coach, because I know what it means to play in a final or a semifinal.”
The former Manchester City great reiterated that winning the DFB-Pokal is the highest level.
“That’s the highest level; everything has to work. I just want to win the next game. Thinking too far ahead is not one of my qualities,” he added.
FC Bayern are still in the UEFA Champions League after beating Real Madrid 6–4 on aggregate. Their next opponents will be Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the semi-final on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.
