WAFCON 2026: Super Falcons unveil 25-player squad

Nigeria’s women national team have confirmed the 25 players that will represent the country at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

The Super Falcons are seeking a record-extending 11th continental title.

Head coach Justine Madugu announced the squad through the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), with a blend of experienced stars and younger talents selected for the tournament, which will run from July 26 to August 16.

Leading the squad is captain Rasheedat Ajibade, while six-time African Women’s Player of the Year Asisat Oshoala also makes the list.

In goal, Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie is expected to remain Nigeria’s first choice after several outstanding performances for club and country.

Star defender Ashleigh Plumptre, however, missed out as she continues her recovery from an injury that required surgery.
