Apostle Arome Osayi has said Nigeria’s purpose as a nation goes beyond economic and political achievements, describing the country’s primary calling as spiritual revival.
Speaking in a sermon, Osayi said Nigerians should not compare the country with nations such as China solely on the basis of manufacturing and industrial development because, according to him, nations have different assignments.
“Our calling as a nation is revival. God wants to generate something from here that He will export to the nations of the world. This is His covenant with this nation,” he said.
He also said Nigeria’s early Christian leaders had sought God concerning the country’s purpose and claimed that a revelation pointed to Nigeria providing missionary manpower to spread the gospel globally.
Osayi further stated, “We are a key player, we are a stakeholder in end time matters.”
The cleric said Nigerians were often too focused on the naira and political power while failing to recognise what he described as the nation’s larger spiritual assignment.
“We are not seeing beyond the Naira, we are not seeing beyond Aso Rock,” he said.
Addressing ministers, Osayi said their present responsibilities could be preparing them for greater assignments.
He concluded by urging his audience to remain determined, saying, “We will not retreat! We will not surrender!”
