Nigerian rapper Phenom has joined the ongoing debate over who is bigger between Burna Boy and Wizkid, arguing that the latter remains the greatest.
Phenom made the statement while reacting to arguments surrounding Burna Boy’s performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony.
Burna Boy performed alongside Colombian singer Shakira at the opening ceremony of the tournament in Mexico City on June 11, 2026.
However, Phenom argued that appearing at the World Cup should not be used as the sole basis for determining an artiste’s global status.
“You can’t say Burna Boy is bigger than Wizkid just because he performed at the World Cup. Would you say Burna is bigger than Drake cos of World Cup performance? Wizkid is the greatest please.”
His comment has sparked another round of debate among music fans, with social media users arguing over the achievements, global reach and overall standing of Burna Boy and Wizkid.
