Nigerian actress and media personality Temi Otedola has openly acknowledged benefiting from privilege and nepotism, saying she has no intention of denying the advantages that come with being born into a wealthy and influential family.
Speaking on an episode of The How Far Podcast, which she co-hosts with her husband, Mr Eazi, Temi weighed in on the ongoing conversation surrounding privilege, family influence, and success.
The daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola explained that while the terms privilege and nepotism are often used interchangeably, they have different meanings.
According to her, privilege provides access to opportunities, resources, and experiences that may not be readily available to others, while nepotism refers to gaining advantages through family connections and influence.
Temi said she sees no reason to pretend those advantages do not exist, adding that she prefers to be honest about the role her background has played in her journey.
“You can never catch me on or off camera saying I’m not a nepo baby.”
She added that she is often surprised when people refuse to acknowledge the impact their family connections have had on their careers and success.

Expressing her disappointment, she wrote:
“I didn’t sleep for almost a week after giving ₦150,000 to a friend on his wedding ceremony, only for the marriage to end after four days. Not even four weeks or four months. No one knows the reason, they just posted it on their status and that’s it.
“I felt cheated cause tell me why you guys didn’t separate before the wedding? I ended up asking for a refund. My friend blocked me the next day. I feel cheated honestly. What do you mean you guys are done after collecting my ₦150,000?”
