Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sent a strong signal to those in opposition parties, declaring that despite the spate of insecurity in the country, he will not resign, news.ng reports.
The President said this on Wednesday while receiving Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, and other stakeholders from the state.
According to the President, members of opposition parties are capitalising on the rising insecurity as a legitimate reason for the Nigerian leader to vacate the office of the presidency.
However, Tinubu, in response, said that despite the pressures of insecurity, he will campaign for a second term.
He said, “You are playing to the hand of agents, including my own enemies, who want to use insecurity to get rid of me. I’m a very stubborn politician.
“I just refuse to go, and I will campaign for my second term. I will walk myself.”
You may recall that the president in March paid a visit to Plateau State following attacks on communities in the state by terrorists, which led to the deaths of innocent people. The president vowed to restore peace and order to the state, declaring that the shackles of violence, shackles of ignorance, shackles of poverty, shackles of hopelessness must break.
