Former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has made a strong allegation against Governor Hyacinth Alia over the reported attack on Peter Obi in Benue State.
Ortom reportedly pointed fingers at the incumbent governor, alleging that Alia was responsible for the actions of some individuals who confronted Obi during his visit to the state.
According to the allegation, “Alia sent his aides to organise thugs” over the incident involving the Labour Party politician.
The development comes amid an ongoing controversy over the circumstances surrounding Obi’s visit to Benue and the response of the state government.
Ortom has previously criticised the Benue government over its handling of political opponents, while lawyers and other commentators have also weighed in on the dispute surrounding Obi’s movement in the state.
The latest allegation has generated reactions online, with some Nigerians backing Ortom and others accusing the governor of denying responsibility.
