Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has been appointed by Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke as the Head of Youth Mobilisation for the Accord Party’s 2026 governorship campaign council.

The announcement, which surfaced on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, positions the “Fall” crooner to play a key role in mobilising young voters for his uncle’s re-election bid under the Accord Party platform.

Davido formally joined the Accord Party in December 2025, shortly after his uncle, Governor Adeleke, defected from the PDP to seek re-election on the new platform. The singer had earlier served as Chairman of the Osun State Sports Trust Fund.

Known for his massive youth following across Nigeria and the diaspora, Davido’s appointment is seen as a strategic move to energise the youth base and leverage his influence, celebrity status, and philanthropic work in Osun State.
