Nigerian comedian and content creator Jectimi Comedy has criticised Afrobeats singer Davido over his ongoing clash with social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM), blaming the singer for allowing the situation to get to its current stage.
In a reaction making the rounds online, Jectimi Comedy argued that Davido brought the criticism upon himself by previously allowing VeryDarkMan to get close to him.
According to the comedian, Davido’s decision to associate with the activist has now come back to haunt him, as VDM has repeatedly dragged the singer and his family online.
Jectimi also questioned why VeryDarkMan would bring up an old video of Davido to mock him simply because the singer danced to a song by rapper Zlatan.
Expressing his disappointment, he said:
“Seriously Speaking, It’s Davido That Brought All These Insults On Himself. Look At What An Id!ot Like VeryDarkMan Is Using OBO To Do. Just Because Davido Danced To a Song By Zlatan, VDM Decided To Bring Up An Old Video Of Davido To Mock Him.
“I Don’t Blame VDM At All Because Davido Deserves It. Because Of Your Good Heart, You Went And Brought Someone Like VDM Close To You. Now Look At The Consequences. VDM Came For Davido Unprovoked And Kept Insulting Him And His Family.”
Jectimi’s comments have since added another perspective to the growing controversy surrounding Davido and VeryDarkMan, with the comedian maintaining that the singer’s earlier decision to bring the activist close to him is partly responsible for the situation he is facing now.
