Social media activist Verydarkman has shared the account of a foreign national from who alleged that he was defrauded of ₦1.6 billion after being led to believe a business transaction was legitimate due to the involvement of individuals at the headquarters.
Speaking during an interview with the alleged victim, VeryDarkMan said the man claimed he was convinced the business was genuine because meetings were held inside a conference room at the Force Headquarters.
According to the Nepalese national, one of the meetings was attended by a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), who allegedly assured him that the individual receiving the payment was a legitimate businessman and that it was safe to proceed with the transaction.
The foreigner said that seeing police officers in uniform and conducting meetings within the police headquarters gave him confidence that the deal was authentic, leaving him with no reason to suspect fraud.
