Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has continued to demonstrate her commitment to nurturing emerging talents in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
The celebrated actress has reportedly sponsored a study programme for her protégé, Jeffrey Oboh-Oshioke, popularly known as Juicyjeff, at the London Film Academy.
Juicyjeff shared the news with his followers on Instagram on Tuesday after arriving in the United Kingdom for the programme.
The content creator regularly works alongside Funke Akindele on her film projects and has gained recognition for documenting behind-the-scenes activities and producing mobile video content.
Expressing his gratitude, Juicyjeff acknowledged Funke for playing a significant role in helping him move closer to his filmmaking aspirations.
He said the opportunity meant a lot to him and noted that he would always appreciate the actress for believing in his potential and supporting his growth.
He wrote:
“My mummy, @funkejenifaakindele, out of her incredible generosity and genuine belief in me, has given me an opportunity I will never take for granted.”
According to Juicyjeff, Funke had helped turn an idea they once discussed as a dream into a reality he could now experience firsthand.
He also shared glimpses of his journey from Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos to Gatwick Airport in London, giving his followers a look at the beginning of his international filmmaking experience.
Reflecting on the significance of the trip, the filmmaker described it as the start of a fresh phase in his career.
“This is not just another trip. It’s a new chapter, a new frame and definitely a bigger production!” he wrote.
