Gov. Yusuf orders security agencies to fish out killers of Danshagamu

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir-Yusuf, has directed security agencies to identify, arrest and prosecute those responsible for the killing of social media influencer and political commentator, Ibrahim Khalil, popularly known as Danshagamu.

The governor condemned the killing, describing it as gruesome, shocking and unacceptable.

This was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by the governor’s spokesman, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

Mr Yusuf expressed concern over the circumstances surrounding the killing and called for a thorough investigation to unravel the circumstances of the incident.

He directed the relevant security agencies, particularly the Kano State commands of the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Police Force, to intensify efforts to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.

The governor stressed that all those found to have been involved in the killing must be brought to justice.

“Governor Yusuf described the killing as shocking and unacceptable, expressing concern over the circumstances surrounding the incident and calling for a thorough investigation to ensure that all those involved are brought to justice,” the statement said.

The governor extended his condolences to the family, friends and associates of the deceased.

He prayed to Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased and grant him eternal rest.

Yusuf also appealed to residents of the state to remain calm and refrain from taking the law into their own hands in response to the incident.

He assured the people that his administration would continue to work with security agencies to protect lives and property across the state.

The governor further directed the security agencies to intensify efforts to ensure that the perpetrators were identified, arrested and prosecuted.

He warned that no individual or group would be allowed to take the law into their own hands.
