Nigerian Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti has sparked a debate on social media after sharing his views on cheating, marriage and inheritance.
The musician said he would not leave his wife if she cheated on him, arguing that infidelity should not automatically mean the end of a marriage.
Speaking about his position on relationships, Kuti said, “If my wife cheats on me I won’t leave her because it doesn’t mean anything.”
He further criticised what he described as the attitude of some African men towards infidelity, saying, “African men are forming as if cheating isn’t a normal thing in a relationship.”
Kuti also spoke about his properties and revealed the family member he believes should have access to them. According to the singer, his sister’s child would be the person entitled to his properties because he considers that child to be his “real blood”.
He said, “The only person that can have access to my properties is my sister’s child because that’s the real blood.”
His comments have since generated mixed reactions online, with many users questioning both his views on infidelity and his certainty about the paternity of his sister’s child.
