Inter Miami new signing, Casemiro has revealed that his decision to join the Major League Soccer club was driven by a desire to play alongside Lionel Messi, despite receiving offers from several clubs in Italy.
Speaking to Inter Miami Media, the player said he turned down multiple opportunities in Europe because he wanted to help the Argentine captain continue winning trophies.
“I had many options, from Italy, many teams to play for,” he said.
“But I’m where I want to be: to be with MESSI, to make him win more titles, to make him GREATER than he is right now.”
The player also paid glowing tribute to the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner, describing Messi as the greatest figure in football.
“I just want to help Leo Messi keep winning titles. He is the God of football,” he added.
