Social media personality Ola of Lagos has sparked reactions after revealing that he still lives in rented apartments despite owning a house.
According to him, he deliberately avoids sleeping in a property he bought with his own money because he believes it could make him too comfortable.
Ola of Lagos said he currently lives in a beautiful estate but continues to pay rent, claiming that the financial pressure motivates him to keep working harder.
He said:
“I’ve never slept in any house I bought with my own money. If you do, you’ll become too relaxed. Despite being in a beautiful estate, I still live in rented apartments and pay rent. When I pay ₦50 million a year, I use that pain to keep grinding harder.”
His claim has generated mixed reactions online, with some users describing the mindset as a form of motivation, while others questioned why anyone with a house would willingly spend millions of naira on rent every year.
