Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has responded to the ongoing dispute with her colleague, Lizzy Anjorin, through a formal legal statement challenging allegations made against her and members of her family.
The legal rebuttal was issued on October 13, 2026, through The Maverick, a Lagos-based law firm representing Iyabo Ojo, her daughter, Priscilla Ajoke Ojo Mkambala, her son-in-law, Juma Mkambala, and her grandson, Rakeem Mkambala.
The document, which Iyabo shared on Instagram on Wednesday, October 14, was titled “Rejoinder and Rebuttal to the Malicious, Libelous and Defamatory Publication by One Lizzy Anjorin-Lawal on the 11th Day of October, 2026.”
According to the legal letter, Lizzy Anjorin had allegedly claimed that Iyabo Ojo and her daughter controlled a network of more than 100 bloggers who were being used to target and harass her.
However, Iyabo’s legal team strongly disputed the allegation, describing the claims as malicious, defamatory and unfounded.
The lawyers also referred to two ongoing legal matters involving the actresses. These include Appeal No. CA/LAG/CV/1013/2025, in the case of Madam Alice Iyabo Ojo v. Lizzy Anjorin Lawal, and Suit No. LD/ADR/5292/2023.
The reference to the cases highlights the long-running nature of the dispute, which has continued to generate public attention and legal exchanges between the two actresses.
Through her lawyers, Iyabo maintained that Lizzy should be required to substantiate her allegations in court rather than make claims that could damage the reputations of those involved.
The latest development follows a cease-and-desist notice previously issued by Lizzy Anjorin, in which she accused Iyabo Ojo’s camp of engaging in what she described as a sustained campaign of defamation and cyberbullying against her.
In response, Iyabo’s legal representatives called on Anjorin to stop making further publications they consider defamatory.
The legal letter concluded with the statement, “Whoever comes to equity should do so with clean hands,” stressing the need for parties involved in the dispute to act fairly as the legal proceedings continue.
