Nollywood actress and African Action Congress, AAC, Abia State governorship candidate Doris Ogala has declared her full support for detained Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, leader Nnamdi Kanu, describing him as a “messiah” and “prophet” whose predictions have come to pass.
Speaking in an interview with ABN TV, Ogala said Kanu’s warnings about Nigeria have become reality and insisted that his message should not be ignored.
“I support what Nnamdi Kanu is doing 100% because he’s like a messiah, he’s like a prophet that we didn’t see coming. Everything he has prophesied has come to pass. Everything he said is what is happening today.”
Ogala also said that if she becomes Abia State governor in 2027, seeking Kanu’s pardon and securing his release would be among her first priorities.
“And let me tell you something: if I am the governor today, the first thing I will seek for is Nnamdi Kanu’s pardon.”
She further expressed confidence that AAC presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore would release Kanu if he becomes president, saying the party is fully behind the IPOB leader.
“Because my party, AAC, do not support what is being done to Nnamdi Kanu. We are fully behind Nnamdi Kanu. Not only because he’s the leader of IPOB, but he’s also my brother, and I support him 100%.”
Ogala also called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to revisit Kanu’s imprisonment and release him immediately, while repeating her belief that his release would happen under a Sowore presidency.
Her comments have sparked mixed reactions online, with some Nigerians questioning whether her position could affect her chances in the 2027 Abia governorship election.
