Katsina United technical adviser, Audu Azeez, said he is not bothered by goalkeeper Francis Koroma’s mistake that cost his team victory against reigning Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, champions Rangers.
Koroma’s error earned Rangers a point in the 1-1 draw in their season opener at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta last weekend.
Katsina United took the lead through Luis Dadong in the 35th minute.
The Sierra Leone international shot-stopper failed to hold a cross late in the second half and carried the ball into his own net, handing the defending champions a point.
Azeez commended his team for playing to instructions despite the error.
“I like the commitment from my boys, the off-the-ball play and how they followed the instructions given to them, which was very magnificent and excellent,” Azeez told NPFL media.
“We can’t dwell on the error, and we were happy we were a goal up when it happened.”
