The Agege Local Government Chairman, Abdulganiyu Obasa, has announced the disbursement of N140 million to residents as part of efforts to support small businesses, create jobs and strengthen livelihoods within the council area.
The announcement was made in a statement shared on the official X handle of the local government chairman, Obasa, on Friday, July 24.
According to the statement, the financial empowerment initiative is aimed at expanding economic opportunities for residents and promoting sustainable growth in the local economy.

“Real progress is measured by the opportunities we create for our people,” the statement read.
The council said the N140 million intervention would provide financial support to residents to grow their businesses while stimulating job creation across the community.
“Today, we are empowering Agege residents with ₦140 million to support businesses, create jobs, and strengthen livelihoods. This is our commitment to building a local economy where hardworking people have the support they need to grow and succeed,” the statement added.
The local government reaffirmed its commitment to improving the welfare of residents through initiatives designed to promote entrepreneurship and economic development.
“Together, we are creating opportunities, empowering dreams, and building a greater Agege,” the statement said.
