Former Anambra State Governor and presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has received a warm welcome from residents and supporters in Asaba, Delta State.
A large crowd reportedly gathered in the Delta State capital on Thursday to welcome Obi, with supporters expressing their excitement as they rallied around his political ambition ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The gathering saw some residents chanting in support of the former governor, with the message, “Peter Obi will reset Nigeria, Peter Obi for president.”
The show of support comes as Obi continues his engagements with Nigerians in different parts of the country ahead of the 2027 election.
In recent weeks, the presidential hopeful has spoken about his vision for Nigeria, including the need for better governance, improved security, investment in human capital and a more productive economy. He has also repeatedly described his vision as building a “New Nigeria.”
Obi’s supporters have continued to promote his candidacy, pointing to his campaign message of changing the way the country is governed.
The Asaba gathering adds to a series of public engagements involving the former Anambra governor as political activities ahead of the 2027 election continue to gather momentum across the country.
