A ponmo businesswoman arrested following the alleged discovery of human faeces at her processing centre reportedly slumped in court during her arraignment in Akure, Ondo State, on Tuesday.
The development followed an order by the Chairman of Akure South Local Government Area, Hon. Gbenga Fasua, directing the immediate closure of the ponmo processing shop and the disposal of all products found at the facility.
Fasua reportedly ordered the action after bowls allegedly containing human faeces, locally known as ìgbẹ́, were discovered around the ponmo production site.
Following the discovery, the businesswoman was arrested and subsequently brought before a court to face charges relating to the alleged incident.
However, she reportedly slumped during the court proceedings, triggering concerns over her condition.
The circumstances surrounding her sudden collapse were not immediately clear, while further details about the charges and her medical condition were yet to emerge.
