Renowned Nigerian fashion designer Seyi Vodi has opened up about his humble beginnings, revealing how his entrepreneurial mindset transformed a modest start into a thriving global fashion empire.
The luxury designer disclosed that the first money he ever earned came during his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program, where he received a monthly allowance of ₦3,600.
According to Vodi, while many of his peers spent their stipends on daily needs, he chose to think differently by focusing on investment opportunities.
Vodi explained that this early decision to prioritise investment over consumption laid the foundation for his success in the highly competitive fashion industry.

Reflecting on his journey, the designer revealed the remarkable scale of his current earnings, stating that he now charges as much as $300,000 to create a single outfit.
This, he noted, is a testament to years of dedication, consistency, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
“The first ever money I made was from NYSC and it was ₦3,600. While others were spending their allawee, I was thinking of investing. Now I earn $300,000 just to sew a single cloth,” he said.
