Veteran Yoruba film actor Sunday Afolabi has returned to the movie industry after spending time away from the spotlight, during which he was said to have worked as a commercial bus driver in Lagos.

His comeback was announced by fellow actor Adeniyi Johnson, who posted a photo of Afolabi on a film set on Instagram on Sunday, signalling his return to active filmmaking.

According to Adeniyi, Afolabi is currently part of a new project titled ILEKE, produced by his wife, actress Seyi Edun, popularly known as Shai, and directed by filmmaker Adebayo Tijani.

“Ladies and gentlemen, @sundayafolabi22 is back!!! Available for shoots in and out of Lagos, even across Nigeria!! Versatile and professional to the core!!!” Adeniyi wrote, suggesting the actor is fully ready to take on new roles.

The announcement comes weeks after a video surfaced online showing Afolabi around a commercial minibus in Lagos, where he appeared to be helping passengers and calling out routes, activities commonly associated with public transport operators.
