Epelle noted that the “body language” of Wike and his allies does not suggest strong backing for Fubara’s second-term ambition, hinting at ongoing political friction within the state’s power structure.
He further suggested that unresolved tensions and personal grievances within the political camp could influence how the 2027 contest unfolds.
