Lawyer Frank Tietie has said Peter Obi does not need to consult with anyone before visiting any part of Nigeria, stressing that the constitution guarantees every citizen freedom of movement.
Tietie made the statement while reacting to the controversy surrounding Obi’s reported visit to Benue State and the position allegedly taken by the state governor and his aides.
According to the lawyer, “Peter Obi Does Not Need to Consult With Anybody Before Visiting Any Part of the Country.”
He added, “The governor of Benue and his aides must be under the illusion that there is a requirement that a Nigerian citizen should get clearance from a governor. No matter how prominent he is, the constitution guarantees freedom of movement for every citizen.”
The comments have generated heated reactions online, with some Nigerians backing Tietie’s position and others questioning the circumstances surrounding the dispute.
