Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has weighed in on Nigeria’s 2027 general election, questioning whether the country’s future should remain in the hands of politicians or be shaped by the collective will of its citizens.
The controversial cleric expressed concern over what he described as the actions of individuals supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for financial and personal benefits.
According to Odumeje, the 2027 election will provide Nigerians with an opportunity to determine the direction they want the country to take and who should have a say in its future.
He alleged that some supporters of the president are prioritising immediate financial rewards and personal interests over the long-term wellbeing of the country, particularly the future of younger generations.
Odumeje argued that political decisions made today could have lasting consequences for children and generations yet to come.
“In 2027, Nigerians will decide whether the country belongs to politicians or to all of us. Those supporting President Tinubu are busy selling the future of our children for money and personal gain,” he said.
His remarks have sparked discussions about the political choices Nigerians may face ahead of the 2027 elections and the importance of citizens considering the broader consequences of their decisions at the polls.
