Former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Sabo Nanono, was reported in April 2021 to have married an 18-year-old lady identified as Rakiya.
According to reports published at the time, the politician was 74 when he married the teenager at a low-key ceremony in Jere, Kaduna State.
Reports said the wedding was attended by only a few representatives of the former minister, while Rakiya was later said to have moved into his residence in Kano.
A family source cited by Daily Nigerian claimed that Nanono’s family had opposed the marriage because of the age difference, which was about 56 years.
The marriage has resurfaced online, with social media users sharing different reactions to the reported union.
